I am Dismas Congo Ouma, a public health practitioner with a strong commitment to translating public research findings into practice. I hold an MBChB from the University of Nairobi and an MPH from the University of Washington, Seattle. I am the technical lead for HIV/AIDS/STI at International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya, and a member of their senior management team.

I currently lead a multi-phase project aimed at introducing point-of-care STI diagnostics in Kenya. I also oversee the provision of HIV care and general healthcare services for key populations in Mombasa and Kilifi counties through drop-in centers. I previously served as the lead research doctor for HPV and COVID-19 vaccine trials at the Kenya Medical Research Institute’s Center for Microbiology Research, Kisumu Kenya. My contributions also extend to studies on adolescent access to contraceptives, mental health, and HIV prevention.
