I am a Senior Researcher in Population and Public Health with a PhD in Public Health and an MSc. in Population Studies. My PhD research focuses on Intimate Partner Violence among pregnant women and its impact on maternal mental health and infant survival. As a recipient of a PhD dissertation fellowship from APHRC as an ADDRF fellow in 2016, I have received specialized training in GBV, including courses at LSHTM and workshops at APHRC in 2016 and 2017. I am currently engaged in research collaborations with various institutions in Ethiopia, such as Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (ACIPH), working on population health projects. I have experience in leading Burden of Disease studies and serving as a Principal Investigator for the Kersa HDSS project. My skills include survey management, data analysis using SAS and STATA, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. I was a Co-Investigator for the AGRUMIG project funded by the EU Horizon 2020 program. I also have a background in university teaching and in research ethics, having served the Haramaya University as an assistant professor and research Ethics Review Board for more than a decade.
