Rooted in the principles of the Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP) standard, the community fosters peer learning, shared experiences, and practical tools to support institutions in achieving and maintaining excellence in grant compliance and financial stewardship. Our mission is to empower African institutions to confidently attract, manage, and report on donor funding by enhancing their internal systems in finance, human resources, procurement, and governance.

In this role, I oversee a diverse portfolio of grants and provide financial and grants management support to faculty members who have received awards from a range of funders, including local donor agencies, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States Government, and other sponsors involved in Human Health Research. I am particularly interested in learning more about the financial management of donor funds and ensuring strict compliance with grant regulations to support effective and accountable research delivery.

My name is Austine Phiri, Head of Department and Senior Lecturer, at Mzuzu University in Malawi. I am also a final year PhD student in Information Science at the University of South Africa. Professionally, I am a technical committee member on research, projects and grants in the Research Directorate at my institution.
My research interests include open science, research data management, information management, information behavior, records management, and archives management. I am passionate about this workshop because I am heavily involved in resource generation and mobilization at personal and institutional level.

As a passionate advocate for girls’ empowerment, I’m thrilled to share my accomplishments. My book, “Climate Puzzle,” is currently under evaluation by the Curriculum Development Center of Zambia. Notably, it’s been nominated for the prestigious Annual Coppa Book Awards of Zambia, reaching the final round among the top three contenders.
“Climate Puzzle” has garnered approval from the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and the Zambia Climate Change Network. This book sheds light on critical issues, including the impact of climate change on young people living with disabilities, HIV, and vulnerable communities.

zandieMemberHello everyone. I am Zandile Masangane from the Kingdom of Eswatini. I am currently employed under the Sexual Reproductive Health Program as a coordinate Adolescent Health at National level.
I am interested in this workshop because one of my roles is to mobilise resources for the benefit of adolescents and youth programs. My main objective is to improve the health and wellbeing of adolescents and youth in the country ensuring that they have access to friendly services thereby reducing morbidity and mortality amongst the same age group.

gaelleMemberGood day dear all. I am Dr. Gaelle Vofo, an ENT- Head and Neck Surgeon with a sub-specialty training in Ear and Hearing care.
I am the President and Founder of an NGO called Shomea, and we are based in Cameroon. Our main area of focus is early diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing and vision in newborns, school-aged children, and other high-risk populations. We also have projects to digitalize and mentor orphans.
Our projects translate to research through collaborations with the Universities of Buea and Douala in Cameroon.
