        Hello everyone,

Feel free to share new ideas on how we can improve interactions on this platform.

That is an important question. More importantly, the question I try to answere when I speak on this topic is ” How do I write a competitive, winning proposal”. Often, participants want to know of the common shortcomings in RFA application. As Team Leader of DFID’s East Africa Research Fund and recenty as head of the Fund Management Team of FCDO’s Evidence Fund for Eastern Africa, we have developed a flyer called Common shortcoming in applications. More oftyen than not, Partcipants want to see a sample of a winning proposal. That is not easy to do due to data privacy etc.

@JPR I think one of the pain points of most researchers is the ability to write winning proposals. This is either due to a lack of skills or mentorship in this area. I think the common shortcoming in applications would highlight some of the pitfalls and the how of filling the gap.

I think members can benefit greatly if the common pitfalls in this enterprise of grant writing are shared. How does one graduate from a co-PI to a PI? Just like in job applications, the greatest huddle for beginners is evidence of experience. How does one start?
