Short bio

My name is Jolly Bridgit Oyaro, a Gender and Development Specialist with over seven years of experience in human rights, gender equality, and mental health advocacy. I hold a BA in Gender and Development from Kenyatta University and I’m currently pursuing an MA in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Nairobi.

My research interests lie in gender-transformative approaches, mental health and psychosocial wellbeing, and youth and women’s empowerment, particularly exploring how gender norms and power dynamics influence access to health, rights, and opportunities.

As a participant in the Gender Transformative Programming Course under the APHRC and CARTA Virtual Academies, I look forward to deepening my understanding of evidence-based gender interventions, sharing insights from my field experience, and collaborating with peers to promote inclusive and equitable development.
