Short bio

My name is Esther Wechuli, a humanitarian and development professional with over 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE), child protection, safeguarding, and capacity building. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in ECDE and I am a certified Trainer of Trainers, with additional training in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), instructional design, and competency-based curriculum and assessment.

My research interests focus on early learning outcomes, responsive caregiving, inclusive education, and child protection systems in both humanitarian and development contexts. Recently, I enhanced my technical skills by completing a Data Governance and Data Quality Assurance training, which equipped me with practical expertise in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and ethical management of research data.

At APHRC, I envision contributing to the ECDE research section by co-developing inclusive, child-centered research tools, strengthening data quality in research projects, and supporting evidence-based advocacy for improved policy and practice. Within the CARTA Virtual Academies, I would actively engage as both a learner and contributor—sharing field insights from my ECDE and safeguarding work while strengthening my own research capacity in data management and interdisciplinary collaboration.
