Short bio

I am a passionate and diligent early-career researcher with a background in Development Studies and hands-on experience in public health research, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). My professional journey has given me the opportunity to work as a research assistant and data collector with organizations such as the African Institute for Health and Development (AIHD), where I was involved in the evaluation of new child-friendly treatment for schistosomiasis, and with AMREF Health Africa, where I supported malaria prevention projects through both qualitative and quantitative data collection using tools such as ODK Collect, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and in-depth interviews (IDIs). I have also worked closely with vulnerable populations through my role as a case manager with RAPADO, addressing the needs of orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs).

My research interests lie at the intersection of public health, gender, and community development, with a focus on health systems strengthening, adolescent and women’s health, gender equity, and the social determinants of health. I am particularly keen on exploring how evidence-based interventions can reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes in underserved communities.

Within the APHRC and CARTA Virtual Academies, my role is to actively engage in knowledge sharing, collaborative learning, and capacity building. I view the academies as a valuable platform to strengthen my research skills, exchange ideas with peers and mentors across disciplines, and contribute to meaningful dialogue on Africa’s pressing health and development challenges. By participating, I aim to sharpen my analytical and leadership skills while also supporting the vision of nurturing a new generation of African scholars who can drive impactful research and policy change.
