Maphe

Dr. Maphe Mthembu is a postdoctoral biomedical science researcher at Africa Health Research Institute. She has a strong background in HIV and TB immunology and is now expanding her focus to be interdisciplinary, with particular interest in HIV/HPV co-infection and mucosal immunology. Her work bridges molecular diagnostics and translational research to strengthen disease detection and prevention strategies, especially in under-resourced, rural South African communities. Maphe is committed to applying science in ways that support practical, community-based health solutions, particularly for populations facing healthcare challenges.
