Short bio

I am a 36-year-old, resilient, and hardworking Kenyan woman born and bred in Western Kenya with a keen eye on infectious disease education and research.

I hold a BSc. Medical Laboratory Science (Cum Laude, 2010) and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics degree, which I completed early this year. This master’s program has provided me with a robust foundation in epidemiological principles and statistical analysis, further solidifying my desire to pursue doctoral research. I recently applied for the CARTA PhD fellowship and was selected at our institutional level. I’m hopeful that I will be successful in the final selection.

I am new to APHRC and CARTA virtual academies, but I can already tell that there’s a lot of learning to do. I look forward to a lot of growth and engagement relevant to my professional life.

Cheers!
