African Website Visibility
Welcome to the African Website Visibility
This is a really interesting discussion. From my experience, I think it’s both technical and structural.SEO, site speed, mobile experience and good content definitely matter, but factors like domain authority, backlinks, digital infrastructure and how algorithms interpret regional content can…
Rhoda, this is an important and timely question. My view is that the challenge is both technical and structural, but the structural barriers often determine how much benefit we derive from technical improvements. From a public health and research perspective, one…

Hello everyone,
I am pleased to have participated in the recent website visibility workshop—it was truly insightful.
A little about me: I hold an MSc from Adama Science and Technology University and currently serve as a Lecturer, Dean of the Computing College, and a Full-Stack Web Developer at Madda Walabu University. With strong expertise in Laravel and React.js, I am passionate about making a meaningful impact on Africa’s tech ecosystem.
At the moment, I am at a crossroads between two opportunities:
- Dedicating my time and skills to modernizing university systems for maximum efficiency.
- Exploring external business opportunities, which offer fewer budget constraints compared to university projects.
To APHRC and my colleagues reading this: We aim to develop the university website, journal platform, e-learning system, and more. However, given the university’s limited budget and strict financial policies, who is willing to support us financially?
I look forward to insights, justifications, or alternative perspectives.
Happy to connect with you all—thank you in advance!
