Wednesday, October 14
Every year on 15 October, we mark Global Handwashing Day, a day for raising awareness of handwashing with soap as a simple, affordable and effective way to prevent disease and save lives.
This year, we are starting the conversation early by looking at a critical question: Are we making progress on hand hygiene in East Africa, and what needs to happen next?
Join us for a regional webinar bringing together evidence and perspectives from Kenya, Uganda and the World Health Organization (WHO) to explore the progress made, the challenges that persist, and what it will take to make hand hygiene a reality to everyone.
The webinar will draw on evidence and experiences from diverse settings, including health care facilities, schools, humanitarian settings and low-income contexts. The
conversation will also explore policy priorities and practical actions to accelerate progress, including insights on the recently released hand hygiene guidelines for community settings.
Whether you work in public health, WASH, infection prevention and control, humanitarian response, research or policy, this is an opportunity to learn from regional evidence, exchange perspectives and contribute to shaping priorities for Action.
We look forward to your participation in this important regional conversation. Please share this invitation with colleagues and networks who may be interested.
