I am a dedicated academician, clinical researcher, and practitioner with over 24 years of experience in Uganda and Botswana, specializing in Internal Medicine and Public Health. Committed to excellence, I have cultivated a dynamic career that blends medical practice, research, and leadership.
Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Acting Director of Graduate Training and Research at Lira University. With over a decade of expertise in grant management, I oversee an annual USD 135,000 government-funded grant aimed at enhancing research and Innovation at Lira University. I also lead the Strengthening Education and Training in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Centre, funded by the Dutch government. Currently, I am the Principal Investigator for the CAD 1.2 million CAFFP-PAC project, which integrates adolescent-friendly family planning and post-abortion care in Northern Uganda. Additionally, I am a recipient of the prestigious EU Horizon grant (101226563 — M-CARE) for implementing an integrated care model for patients with multiple cardiometabolic and mental health conditions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Beyond research and leadership, I am passionate about fostering strategic collaborations and partnerships that drive impactful healthcare solutions. My research interests span non-communicable diseases (Diabetes Mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, and mental health disorders), infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS and chronic viral hepatitis), and health system strengthening.
