Daniel Nderitu Maina is a Data Scientist at the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), where he works within the Data Management and Analytics Core (DMAC) within the MADIVA consortium to support data-driven research and health systems innovation. His work focuses on data integration, advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and the development of data systems such as dashboards that support evidence-based decision-making in health programs. He is also involved in leading technical activities for projects that link research and health facility data to improve health outcomes. Daniel is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand, where his research focuses on Privacy-Preserving Record Linkage (PPRL) methods for securely linking health data while protecting patient privacy. His doctoral work also explores the use of linked health data to study multimorbidity patterns and improve population health research. His broader interests include health data science, machine learning, and the development of secure data infrastructures for public health research.
