What has gone right with tablets is catching entry errors immediately on-site, while paper has saved me when devices overheated or lost power mid-interview.
My go-to habit before leaving any household is taking 60 seconds right at the doorstep to do a final check verifying that the GPS point and ID synced on a tablet, or that no skip-pattern pages were accidentally missed on paper while the respondent is still right there.
