My name is Tabi Kibukila, and I am a finance and administration professional with over 14 years of experience in Tanzania. I currently serve as the Head of the Project Management Unit at Ifakara Health Institute, where I oversee financial and administrative operations for a diverse portfolio of donor-funded projects valued at approximately $22 million annually. About Ifakara Health Institute, Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) has a strong track record in developing, testing, and validating innovations for health. Guided by its core strategic mandate of research, training, and services, the Institute works across a broad range of scientific disciplines, from basic biomedical and ecological sciences to clinical trials, health systems research, policy translation, and health program implementation. Our institution has not yet undergone GFGP certification, but we are eager to strengthen our financial governance systems and build capacity in grant management and compliance. This course provides an excellent opportunity to learn how the GFGP framework can support us in moving toward best practices and enhancing accountability in managing donor resources. Through this module, I look forward to gaining practical knowledge and insights that can be applied directly within our institution. My expectation is that the training will help us not only improve our internal processes but also position us more competitively for future funding opportunities. I am excited to connect with colleagues across different organizations, share experiences, and encourage one another as we work toward improving financial governance together.
