I am a Ugandan journalist and researcher with several years of investigative reporting on LGBTIQ+ and women’s rights in the region. My work has examined what safety means for queer Ugandans and how LGBTIQ civil society can measure change and impact in community-centred ways.
As a reporter at openDemocracy UK from 2020 to 2025, I investigated financial flows from Western anti-rights groups into Africa and beyond, the influence of religious conservatism and fundamentalism on minority and abortion rights across the continent, and how anti-rights disinformation spreads and persists online.
