Short bio
I have honed over 20 years of progressive experience in the public health and humanitarian sector, with responsibilities in Grant Proposal Development, Project Cycle Management, Health Services Coordination, Technical and Community Capacity Building, and Health Systems Strengthening across local and international NGOs within anglophone, francophone and lusophone geographies in Africa. With my certifications in both the Leadership Development Program (LDP) and Project Management for Development Professionals (PMDPro), I have built a strong technical and managerial foundation aligned with the needs of dynamic, growth-oriented health and humanitarian programs.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a consistent record of delivering high-impact results. I have supported organizations to achieve over a 50% donor funding success rate, steered HIV programs to attain an 88% viral suppression rate—significantly above regional averages—and facilitated life skills development for over 1,000 young people across Kenya. My expertise spans grant writing, adolescent health programming, SRHR, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, capacity building, organizational development, and technical assistance in health leadership and governance.
My professional experience includes proposal development and coordination in my current role at VillageReach and previously in Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) and Nuru International, plus routine grant writing as part of my additional responsibilities in other senior roles at IMA World Health under the USAID/Afya Jijini program, where I offered program leadership, coordinated DREAMS activities, strengthened community-facility linkages, and led quality improvement efforts. At Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, I spearheaded adolescent-centered HIV interventions and collaborated with government and partners to enhance linkage, retention, and viral suppression outcomes. Earlier roles with Management Sciences for Health and the National Organization of Peer Educators allowed me to shape county-level leadership and governance systems, lead institutional resource mobilization, and support CSOs through Organizational Capacity Assessments and technical mentorship.
In addition to my programmatic leadership, I have a strong consulting background, having delivered assignments in training curriculum design, strategic planning, HMIS strengthening, research, and proposal development for a range of national and international clients.
Across all roles, my guiding professional goal has been to serve humanity through evidence-informed, people-centered solutions that strengthen systems, improve health outcomes, and support organizational sustainability. I am confident that my blend of technical expertise, leadership experience, and passion for transformational health programming would add value to your team.
