Sustainability component in grant writing
Many grant proposals struggle to present a convincing sustainability plan. What approaches have you found effective in demonstrating that project outcomes will be maintained beyond the funding period, and what evidence or arguments helped persuade funders that your sustainability strategy was realistic and achievable?
I did a proposal and secured funding. In this project, I proposed the development of a postgraduate program, which I succeeded did. It's currently undergoing the university approval process. Once the Senate approves it, then we will begin to admit students. Our proposed sustainability was continuous capacity building.
However, I have also failed to secure funding even when I indicated sustainability such workshops, publications etc. I am not sure what the problem could be. Your feedback will be highly appreciated
The sustainability issue has been a key impediment for me too in many grant propasals.
In my proposal on HIV-NCD coomorbidity, i recommended that the management of the two conditions be integrated across the country and implemented together.
