Dear all, 


I'm sharing a call for abstracts for the International Conference on Advancing Adolescent Resilience and Rights in a Changing World, taking place 22-23 September 2026 at Addis Ababa University (AAU). The Conference is organized by the Center for Human Rights (AAU) in collaboration with Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE) / ODI Global and QUEST Research, Training and Consultancy PLC.

Conference themes include:

  • Adolescent Rights, Protection and Wellbeing
  • Adolescent Health, Nutrition and Sexual and Reproductive Health
  • Education and Skills Development
  • Gender Equality and Social Inclusion
  • Digital Transformation and Adolescents
  • Climate Change, Humanitarian Crises, and Resilience

Thank you for sharing this, Benard. The conference themes, particularly Adolescent Rights, Protection and Wellbeing alongside Health and SRH, speak directly to work many of us in this community are doing on the ground.
At Purpose Rwanda, youth under 35 make up 70% of the beneficiaries in our peer-led addiction recovery model, and adolescent-responsive programming has become central to how we design support. I regret seeing this after the abstract deadline has passed, but I would be keen to follow the outcomes of the conference and connect with anyone attending to exchange notes afterward.
Individually weaker, collectively stronger.
